Fresh Kicks / by nigel grey

We made it to Crater Lake where a couple boxes of new shoes have been waiting for us at Mazama Village. Footwear has never felt so good. Our new kicks are called the Altra Olympus, and yes, they are like walking on clouds.

Also Nigel can't be Goat. There is another Goat, a northbounder, and we keep hearing ominous rumors about him. We fear the name has been tainted, and cannot be shared. If you have any ideas for a new name,  leave a comment below!

We thought we would start adding in some trail vocabulary, so y'all can feel like insiders the next time you run into a thru-hiker (hiking from beginning to end of trail without  significant pause). So word of the day - flip flopping: a thruhiker that is not hiking the trail from bottom to top or top to bottom, instead they are hiking a portion of the trail and then doing a different portion, eventually putting it all together in the same period of time.

here are the photos!!!
